I'm thinkin' this can't end well for someone with my surname...
I'm gonna keep drawing until I get to 365 drawings posted, however long that takes!

Because it's Satyr-day...duh!
And also, I've been on a mythology kick with my daughter recently and we've been influencing each others' art. Plus I want it to be Spring like...now. Yesterday. Especially for all my poor East Coast friends. If I send seven sleds of satyrs can we stop with the Snowpocalypse? Deal?

I'm gonna suggest you get your wording worked out to be very specific about the nature and method of fulfillment you're getting on those three wishes. He doesn't look all that happy to have been summoned.
Perhaps he was in the bath...

Does this toga make my snakes look fat?
So there I was, doing my homework like normal and when I decided to take a break to sketch something, Medusa came calling. I have no idea why. Maybe I watched one too many "Clash of the Titans" trailers last weekend or something. Anyhow, she's not colored or shaded or anything because a.) it's late and b.) I'm going to put some major mojo on her with the digital painting because I love her just that much.

Defiant chick is defiant.
Yeah, well...I had a killer Animation class today so you get defiant baby chickens. But at least he's a lovely yaller defiant baby chicken.

Ok, so I have no idea in this world what this cartoon is about. See, I had this really intense day in class today and when I came home I was coughing quite a bit so I decided to avail myself of the codeine based cough syrup my doctor prescribed me recently. And then I watched TV for awhile and right about when the codeine was kicking in, I remembered that I hadn't drawn anything today. So I sat down to draw and this fell out.
And I just don't know what the heck is going on in this picture. Why is this creature bald? Is he mad or just really exerting himself? Why is he in his underwear? And what's the pillow strapped to his back all about?
It makes no sense at all. This is what comes of drinking from bottles marked "Drink me.." I suppose..

"Ninja squirrel defies your puny attempts to thwart him at the bird feeder.."
All squirrels are Ninjas. Ask anyone. Especially ours though, because we have bird feeders and they will NOT be denied the tasty sunflower seed goodness therein.

Kind of a generic "beach girl" but I'm working on two things at the moment:
1. drawing characters who look like they're walking credibly
and
2. drawing girls who look like girls.
I think this has succeeded on both counts, so I'm happy with her.
There will likely be an influx of female characters coming along soon as my Animation professor has tasked me with practicing drawing female characters and to "push the femininity until the drawing breaks." So. Yeah. You're going to get to see a lot of that, probably.

This was just a quick sketch I did with a brush pen in between bouts of homework today. Sunday nights are definitely going to be challenging in terms of getting the daily drawing done -and- getting homework finished - but I will persevere!

"Although the property damage from the home invasion was minimal, it took the Bear Family years of therapy before they were able to eat porridge again.."
Copic markers, brush pens. Originally I put a grey scaled version of this up here, but it was just a little -too- creepy and this bizarre new marker made hash of the shadows. I wasn't happy with it, so for today's post I'm sticking with just the line art.

I have a feeling this won't end well...
Mad scientists being what they are, though, I doubt telling him that would stop him.
Intersting aside about Mr. Mad Scientist here - when I draw these, I draw on loose paper. Today I hadn't noticed until I was below this guy's knees that he was actually on two separate pieces of paper. I had to tape him together and scan him in, then re-draw him.
In other words - he was two drawings that had to be Frankenstein-ed together.
MUAH HA HA!!

Today's 'toon brought to you courtesy of the fact that I was very happy to see my dinner tonight, and was feeling grateful to all chef-kind for my food. And also, we were learning about circular character construction in my character animation class today. I thought "There's nobody as circular as a good chef.." and so here he is.

"Bear really hated that bird.."
First day back to the grad school grind today, so this one is late in the day but still counts since it's before midnight in my particular time zone.
I can't imagine what might be inspiring this one.
